Today I gave a class on how to add “power” effects to characters, stuff like magic, elements, lighting… It’s a fun class to teach. I basically just do a quick sketch of a very generic, rough character and play around adding different effects to it. Here’s a sample of some of the effects we made.
It still needs some adjustments, but I needed to complete the “Phoenix” part of the image since it would play a major role in the lighting of the rest of the scene. Also, I just felt like painting fire today.

Today I taught a class on painting clothing and rendering cloth and stuff like that. This is one of the images I made during the class, and now I share it with all you abnormals.
This image is much larger than just this part of it, but I decided to go ahead and complete the Samurai Death figure on its own before moving on to the rest. The colors are subject to change, depending on what the background ends up looking like.
